About this

I am freelance illustrator and author. Originally from Birmingham, I studied English and American Literature at the University of Warwick, then completed a Masters in Authorial Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts. After a stint as an art director in the publishing industry, I now spend my days drawing.

Some recent clients for my commercial illustration work include the Ashmolean Museum, the Natural History Museum, Oxford University Press, the New Economics Foundation, York Press, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

In between commissions, I’m currently working on my own illustrated novel for children. In my spare time I make music and dabble in creating narrative video games.

Here is the best place to see my recent projects and my current portfolio. For timely updates about new work, follow @simonhreid or my blog.
